Decent food, GREAT service! To be honest I would rate the breakfast food a 3, but I am tacking on another star for the service and the huge selection of choices. I do recommend the breakfast potatoes over the hash browns, the sausage links are excellent, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The coffee is excellent for a diner. I also very much appreciate that every meal came with a small serving of fruit to balance out the breakfast. Plus my friend has a terrible gluten allergy, so it's great that they have options on the menu for her. However, I recommend avoiding the pancakes (they are very bland and a little dry) and the biscuits and gravy (tastes like they use plain hamburger instead of sausage in the gravy, very bland). Overall, I recommend this diner. Great value for the money, and the food is pretty food for the most part. I will be back.

Now this is a hometown diner. We went for breakfast and we will be back another time soon for lunch. A duster restaurant to burg bar & grill, this gem had a ton of breakfast and lunch options with some added Greek flare and a touch of Cuban dishes. To this native Floridian it's the fun options you'd expect to see at a local diner. I got the mama mias eggs Benedict which included spinach and mushrooms. I selected crispy hash browns as my side and it also came with a banana and strawberry. It was so good I wish there was less hollandaise since it was so good it didn't need that much. The guys got the Hungry Greek and an omelet and we were all happy. Choices between potatoes, hash browns and grits ensured there were options for everyone. A banana and strawberry for everyone too. Portions were large, prices good and the choices abundant. We had Aly as our waitress and she was great! Friendly and awesome some recommendations. Check this place out for sure!

My daughter and I had breakfast here and it was good. She had pancakes and I had the eggs Benedict. The food was nice. Nothing really special, but I will definitely come back. The service was awesome though. It's obvious the people who work there have pride in their environment. It's really nice to see. I hope they do well!

We stopped here for breakfast and were a bit surprised at how lacking it was. We love the original Burg and expected a lot more from the Burg Diner. It wasn't necessarily bad and, in fact, the home fries were crispy and well-cooked, but nothing was seasoned and the eggs were way overcooked. Ben F ordered "thick cut" bacon, one of the options on the menu, and received two slices of grizzly-looking, grey, under cooked "bacon". He sent it back to be cooked a bit more but it still just wasn't good. The decor was very unfinished looking. There were framed pictures/posters leaning against the wall, kitschy items oddly organized on other walls, almost like it was just thrown up in a hurry. Overall, it wasn't all bad but not enough to draw me back.

Visited this place during the soft opening... While the interior is really nice & fresh, homey, and well designed - the food was just "ok". I got my standard "baseline" diner dish to see how they delivered (Pancakes and Bacon) The pancakes seemed straight out of a mix...very heavy, bland, dense things. Nothing there that said "this is our take on a pancake". The syrup was also "just ok", and tasted like standard Sysco issue, served cold. No butter was served with the pancakes, another odd choice. Those cakes need all the lubrication they can get. The bacon was iffy as well...not awful - but c'mon. You can only do so much with standard-cut (very thin) foodservice bacon. Serving a decent, memorable bacon will draw customers like flies. I return over and over to places like Trip's that serve their own custom cut bacon. I tried a sampler of the sausage gravy - it was decent! Service was excellent and friendly - I'll try again after they have been around for a bit to see if things have improved...

The food here is fantastic. Breakfast is served all day, and the entrees taste like they're fresh out of grandmas kitchen. Daily specials are three course, and awesomely priced. Give it a try if you're looking for something classic and delicious.

Happy that the BURG is now in our area, no more having to go downtown. Everything is great. Momma "Burg" makes great Greek salads. The menu lots of choices. You can't go wrong. Finally a Diner, I am am from NY and even though it doesn't look like a NY diner, it has the same variety. Thanks for coming to my part of St. Pete

Went for breakfast. I had the corned beef hash w/ scrambled eggs and potatoes. SO had French toast. Everything was really good, corned beef was some of the best I've had. They serve kahwa coffee and the service was fantastic. Our total bill only came out to about $20! Took off one star because their lunch menu still isn't done and they don't appear to have a beer and wine license yet. This place will really benefit when those things are done. Overall still a very good breakfast spot.

Great place in the "middle district" of St Pete off 49th and 30th ave. Great Burg favorites, freshest breakfast in town, and they pay homage to the old Cuban Delight with a cool Cuban menu! Small space so get here early! Limited seating out front.

My normal breakfast place is starting to decline in quality because they're getting so busy because other diners have closed around them, and I'm not thrilled to have to wait for a table for breakfast. Stopped in at the Burg Diner around 9:30, and there was plenty of seating available, so I sat at the counter. Service was pretty good, though the three servers seemed out of sorts even though it wasn't busy at all. I guess the place is still new and they're trying to figure out how to use the iPads for ordering ? I had the western omelet and home fries that comes with toast and a strawberry, nice touch. The omelet was decent and I really enjoyed the home fries, they were cooked well and you could tell they cooked them with butter, yum ! The only thing I wish they did was butter the toast, I want to eat and not prep my toast :) The breakfast menu is kind of small compared to other diners, though you can ask them to make anything you want, but you don't know how much it will cost. I didn't see a lunch or dinner menu, but I didn't look for one either, so I will check that out when I go back for breakfast. I hope they stay busy enough to remain in that location, but not so busy I have to wait for a table or seat at the counter.

Food was decent. Not over the top just standard. It is a Cuban cafe turned American owned. They still serve Cuban food as if the previous owners still work there but are owned by someone new. It is a little over priced for the basic quality. They also didn't have a lunch menu being that they just opened 2 weeks ago. Service was mediocre. Friendly but not memorable. Will I return, maybe when I get a craving for Cuban food again.

The burg diner never disappoints... Food is good and the service is impeccable. Always a good stop when I'm on that side of town.

Friendly service, mediocre food. Its below average diner food. Went for breakfast: pancakes, eggs and potatoes. Potatoes had zero flavor, not even salt. Pancakes were standard, from the box mix taste. Hate to not frequent a local business but I won't be going back here and don't recommend. The fruit wasn't fresh which just seems like the least a restaurant could do. Two stars for service only.

A true mom and pop diner. Felt right at home. Service was great and the lasagna special was excellent! Left in a food coma and 3 lbs heavier! Two thumbs up! !!!!

This place is great. A true underground diner, with the unique menu that offers a lot of variety. The staff was wonderful. Try one of the daily specials. You'll leave this place feeling 5 pounds heavier

Love the Greek salad with gyro meat - a medium is absolutely huge. Much better than other local Greek places.

I stopped by this afternoon for a late breakfast. Knowing the how good the food is at the Burg Bar & Grill downtown, I was excited to see if this place was just as good. I pulled into a small plaza and it is right on the end. The parking is somewhat limited. I walked in to find the place quite busy so I decided to take a seat at the bar. I was promptly greeted and was brought drinks. The servers were are very friendly and attentive. I ended up ordering the super Greek omelette. While waiting for my food, one of the servers explained to me that they are still in their soft opening and trying to work out the kinks. I think they have been open for 2 weeks now. The food took a little longer to come out than expected, but not bad given how small the kitchen was and how busy they were. The omelette was good and on par with most diner type places. I expected a little bit more given how good the food is down at the Burg Bar, but I am sure they will continue to improve. i also sampled the black eyed pea soup which was quite tasty. Overall, I enjoyed eating there and look forward to trying it again. The hours are currently breakfast and lunch only, but I was told they plan on extending them into dinner soon.
